Uploading Shapefiles to Dandjoo – Key Requirements
If you’re uploading a shapefile to define a polygon search area in Dandjoo, please ensure the file meets the following criteria. While you may be familiar with shapefiles in general, Dandjoo has strict validation rules that must be followed for successful upload and processing
What can be uploaded
- A ZIP file containing a valid shapefile set.
- The ZIP must include, at minimum:
- .shp – geometry
- .shx – shape index
- .dbf – attribute table
- You may also include these optional but acceptable files:
- .prj, .sbn, .sbx, .cpg
- The shapefile must represent a single polygon only
- The polygon must:
- Have at least three points
- Be non-overlapping
- The coordinate reference system (CRS) must be WGS84
What cannot be uploaded
- Shapefiles that contain points or lines instead of polygons
- Shapefiles containing multiple polygons
- ZIP files missing any required component (e.g., missing .shp)
- ZIP files containing unsupported file types
- Empty ZIP files or ZIPs with unrelated files
- Polygons with self-intersections or overlaps
Important Note
Sensitive data should not be included in shapefile uploads.
If your file doesn’t meet these requirements, it will be rejected during the upload process. For any questions, feel free to get in touch with the Dandjoo support team.
